Thorndike New, or "Tony," (Niu Chang Teh) was FEBC's first technical engineer, and served with FEBC's efforts in Shanghai until communist takeover in 1949 made Christian ministry impossible. Tony graduated from the College of Electrical Engineering in the Central University of China in Chungking in 1945, and was already serving Christian broadcasting in China at Grace Church's studio.
