Envelope (Postal cover) dated May 25, which contained a letter from Arvid Veidmark to the office in Los Angeles. Arvid and family reached Manila April 8, 1947, and lived for a while in Manila proper before settling in at CRCM on May 2. This envelope crosses out the "Azcarraga" address and refers to "Penn." This is no doubt because there was no mail delivery to CRCM address in Karuhatan. Of Philatelic interest is the use of both Philippine Republic and American Commonwealth stamps. One peso was worth US 0.50 at that time. The Philippines received its independence from the United States in 1946.
